God created Adam as the first man, creating him in His own image and likeness (Genesis 1:26-27).
Man

Man's Creation
God formed Adam from the dust of the ground and breathed life into him, making him a living being. This act distinguishes Adam as a unique creation, bearing God’s image and given dominion over the earth (Genesis 1:28).

Dust of Ground
Breath of Life
After forming Adam from the dust, God “breathed into his nostrils the breath of life” (Hebrew: nishmat chayyim), and Adam became a “living soul” or “living being.”
This divine act imparts life and sets Man apart from other creatures, highlighting the intimate involvement of God in giving Adam vitality and consciousness.
